The Cloud and Co Wallet Review

A Wallet with Mindfulness & Clarity

Cloud and Co are a design company that creates a variety of goods with minimalism in mind. Now, when I usually talk about minimalist wallets I’m usually referring to a smaller-sized wallet. But in the case of Cloud and Co, minimalism is in reference to the design ideology. This movement in modern design, that has a take on simplicity, clean design, and a philosophy of mindfulness has helped make minimalism a popular movement in the world today.

The Cloud and Co ‘Type1’ Wallet really capitalizes on this ideology and is one of the most aesthetically pleasing wallets I’ve come across in a long time. This is down to it’s the incredibly clean and sleek design and tiny form factor. Dubbed as having an ‘invisible construction’, this means the wallet has very little to show in terms of how it’s constructed. No stitching marks, no harsh lines, or thread.

In terms of its build quality, I found it very difficult to understand what type of material it’s made from. On the surface, it looks to be a full-grain vegetable-tanned leather that is confirmed by the patina the wallet develops overtime. Contrary to my usual opinion I don’t like Patina developing on this wallet. I think it takes away from the minimalist design aspect. The range of colors to choose from is also in tune with its minimalist disposition. Coming in a range of pastel colors including white, grey, natural (cream), and Apricot.

The functionality of the wallet is very basic but does a great job of what it does. It’s designed in a bi-fold style and to retain its looks has nothing on the outside of the wallet. Inside are 4 standard credit card sized card slots that can accommodate around 2 cards in each (total of 8). The other 2 ‘hidden slots’ are built within the top edges of the wallet. They can store additional cards (at a tight squeeze) but are much more accommodating for banknotes, folded, or other paper items like receipts.

So can you even buy the Cloud and Co Minimalist Wallet? I’ve tried looking across the internet and found it very difficult to find anyone with this in stock. That being said, I did succeed, with it being sold by a company known as Leibal of the price tag of $149.00. As this wallet’s so unique I find it hard to compare it to other wallets and give an honest opinion. This wallet is more about its looks and the way it makes you feel. It’s hard to put a price tag on something like that. For more information on the Cloud & Co Wallet check out their stockist using the list below.
