What is a Tappy Card?

The newly released Tappy Card aims to be a more efficient alternative to traditional business cards. It’s basically a business card that utilizes Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology along with QR codes to help network your business and social media accounts with one tap.

What is Near-Field Communication?

Near-field communication isn’t a brand new technology. It has actually been around for a while and you’ve probably used it at some point without noticing. If you’ve used key cards to access hotel rooms or buildings, then you already have an idea of how this technology works.

You might have even seen the feature on your phone, seeing as most smartphones nowadays come with it. You can also find the feature in speakers, tablets, and even gaming consoles like Nintendo Switch.

Near-field technology is a communication standard that’s based on proximity. Unlike Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, its range is limited to a few centimeters at most.

NFC-Technology

This tech uses the inductive coupling principle, where the reader device generates a magnetic field by sending an electric current through a coil.

When a device with a tag that has the same coil as the reader device is within range, the current passes through it and the data transfer starts.

Tappy Cards use this convenient technology to transfer social media links from the user to their clients’ phones, and they’re compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

Why Should You get a Tappy Card?

Tappy cards can be a great alternative to business cards for many reasons. For starters, traditional business cards can easily get lost. What’s more, making business cards isn’t cheap, to begin with, and there’s always an amount of waste involved in making them since you never know how much you’ll need, so most of us end up making way more than needed.

This can be such a nuisance, especially if you’re just starting out with a small business. At any point, you may want to rebrand and change your business name, so you’ll not only end up with a bunch of wasted cards, but you’ll also have to pay to get new ones made.

That being said, having one reusable card to scan with every client is much more efficient, and the option to update your information whenever you want is definitely a money saver.

Tappy Cards give you a few options for their design. You can go for plastic or metal depending on your budget. The metal cards come in an elegant black color that sports two stripes of white.

On the other hand, the plastic ones have a pretty basic design, which comes in two colors: black and white. If you want to add a little bit of sparkle, you can go with their hologram design that offers a shiny, hologram-like look.

The default designs of the card have the business name on the bottom left, the Tappy Card logo on the top right, and the QR code on the top left. There’s also an option to customize your card entirely and add your own design. I think this is a cool option to have. Let’s say you have an art or photography business. This option gives you a chance to create a design that fits the business you’re trying to market.

Another fun fact is that Tappy recently expanded their products and added the Tappy Dot and the Tappy Grip. Both of them can be put on your smartphone. In fact, the Tappy dot can go on any surface. With the new products, you won’t even have to worry about carrying business cards. You can just have the links to your business ready to market right on your phone! And with the Tappy Dot, you can place it anywhere. It can be an excellent addition to your office!

Tappy Card Set-Up & Use

To enjoy the convenience of owning a Tappy Card, you first have to purchase the card itself by heading to the official Tappy Card website. Once on the site, you type your business name and complete a purchase.

From there, you’ll receive an envelope in the mail that has the card and instructions on how to set it up and connect it to your social media accounts. Every card comes with a serial number, which you’ll need for setting up your account.

You then head back to the website and start connecting your social media accounts. There’s a ton of options for you to connect with, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, SoundCloud, and many more!

After you link your accounts, you’ll be taken to a page to fill in some general information such as your bio, profile picture, email address, and phone number—nothing out of the ordinary.  After you’re done setting up your card, it’ll then be fully connected to your social media accounts and ready to go! It’s really is as easy as that.

Final Verdict

Right now, Tappy products can only store the information of one business, but it would be great if, in the future, they incorporate a feature that allows you to store multiple business information and have you switch between them through the website!

Regardless, Tappy products are definitely more efficient for all business owners, so we’d highly recommend checking them out. Tappy Card also has a range of offers and discounts to use at any one time. At the moment you can get 25% of your Tappy Card using the coupon code ‘UPGRADE’.
