The Secrid Mini Wallet Original Review

[Buyers Guide 2022]

For most wallet manufacturing firms, it’s basically about making a wallet that will house your money, cards, and IDs. However, for SECRID, the manufacturers of the original black mini wallet, it is way beyond that. In a world that has evolved to embrace a cashless policy and make most payments through cards, I have reasons to make use of my card every day.

For me, it gets exhausting to have to take out my wallet from my pocket, open up the zip, and take out my cards for every single payment I want to make. This is why the Miniwallet original black is a revolutionary wallet. SECRID has set the bar high, by adding comfortability to the Miniwallet.

Here’s what SECRID had to say about the Mini wallet.

Here’s what SECRID had to say about the Mini wallet.

“Our most iconic wallet and the perfect all-rounder. The Miniwallet is compact in size and surprisingly large in capacity. With a wide variety of styles and colors, it fits every pocket. The patented mechanism allows you to slide out your cards with one simple motion, ready for immediate use. The aluminum protects from bending, breaking, and unwanted wireless communication”.

Look & Design

The Secrid Miniwallet original black is designed to fit every style. I love the leather on the wallet a lot, and this made me research and found out it is called Original. Original is a leather that serves all-purpose and is timeless as it cannot wear off easily. Its natural glossy finish makes it a lovely fit for every style. Original is a corrected-grain leather made in Holland and Italy from European cowhide.

I will say it is one of my favorite leathers that I have seen on a wallet. I also love how the leather shell is held closed by a stylish button clip. While I was on my way home from a function, I got caught up in the rain, and my mini wallet was not as soaked as I thought it would be – it made me further appreciate the water-resistant nature of the leather.

I also love that it comes in a deep black color, although there are several other colors for the mini wallet. This is probably one of the most designed wallets ever with too many colors to count along with patterned options to consider. I love this as a feature as it allows a certain uniqueness to fit your individual style.

Functionality & Utility

The Miniwallet can hold a considerable amount of embossed and flat cards, at a time I carry up to 4 embossed or six flat cards at least. It can also hold more cards than this amount at a time, at least four extra cards. I also don’t have to worry about my cards breaking when I accidentally sit on my wallet, the Miniwallet protects my cards from breaking through its aluminum core.

The RFID/NFC Cardprotector feature of the mini wallet helps protect my cards from unwanted wireless communication. I also have no problem when I need to carry cash around as I fit in as many banknotes as possible, while also carrying my business cards.

In Use & Practicality

There’s no doubt this wallet is enjoyable to use. The metal wallet carrier is a joy to use and with a simple touch of a button, all your most used cards are easily accessible. I never had any issues with this mechanism and it really shines in its brush metal and leather encasing.

The leather encasing is also much needed for note storage. Remember to keep in mind though that you will need to fold your notes to fit in this wallet. It’s not a big deal, but this does slow down how fast you’re able to put and take out notes.

The additional card slots within the leather encasing are also much needed as the steel card carrier can only hold so many cards (4 embossed or 6 flat).

One issue I thought I’d have is the weight of the wallet. Including both the thick leather and metal aspects of the wallet I thought it might be heavy or even just bulky in the pocket. Neither of these ended up being an issue.

Final Verdict

The Miniwallet original black is an attractive, all-purpose wallet, and the Cardprotector takes it to another level. Overall, this wallet is a great wallet for those who find themselves frequently needing their cards due to its quick card access feature and protection it offers. At $89.95, it is a more high-end wallet with a hefty price tag. Nevertheless, I feel it does pose value for money and is a great wallet for those looking for style and functionality.
