The MKC Wallet Review
The Unique MKC Wallet combines a minimalist leather wallet with the ability to store up to 4 keys. Amazing idea, or silly gimmick?
Is This the Ultimate Key Organiser Wallet?
An innovative wallet, to say the least, the Black Tab Wallet by MKC is a wallet that utilizes a unique design with an array of features not commonly found on most wallets. Its main feature is its ability to score a good array of keys (4 keys in total). This is achieved with a pivot mechanism where keys are hooked and secured in place between a series of screws. This allows keys to move freely from inside the wallet to outside when in use. This is a commonly used system in many popular key organizers.
Along with its key storage capabilities, the MKC Wallet also has an additional slot at the front dedicated to the storage of credit/debit cards. With a capacity of up to 4 cards, the wallet is made specifically for more minimalist users who want a more compact streamlined EDC experience. Included in this slot, is also a quick access pull tab. This simply allows for better and easier access to your cards. With a simple pull of the tab, cards cascade outwards making cards easier to access without them getting stuck or lodged in the tight leather slot.
Finally, I found the build quality and construction of the MKC Wallet very strong. It’s clear from unboxing that their choice of leather, an unspecified Full-Grain Leather, is of high quality. The leather has a thick hide, a fantastic smell, and for me, has already started to develop a rich patina and shine after a few weeks of use.
At a price tag of $72.00, the MKC Wallet is definitely not cheap. That being said, in all my years reviewing wallets it’s becoming increasingly rare to find a wallet, like this, that has such unique functionality. If you’re a minimalist and tend to carry many keys with you, then this wallet is a fantastic way to combine your EDC for a better carry experience.
