The Cyclist Wallet Review
An Upcycled Wallet by Recycle & Bicycle
With the rise in sustainably across the world consumers are becoming more acutely aware of the dangers of global warming, and as such, have begun to seek out consumer-conscious ways to help the cause in any possible way. Due to this, businesses are doing the same and within the wallet world, we’ve seen a huge spike in the number of recycled or vegan wallets on the market. One such example of this is the simple cyclist wallet by Recycle & Bicycle a brand that creates a variety of appeal and functional goods from upcycled bike parts.
The wallet is made using upcycled leather from a variety of sources including but not limited to sofa swatch books. Due to this, it’s very difficult to give an honest opinion on the potential quality of the leather (as each wallet has the potential to be different). Using the wallet I received I found the leather to be on the poorer side, simulator in texture, grain, and appearance of Genuine leather (one of the worst quality grades on the market). That being said, I can’t really complain as this is recycled leather and also considering the affordability of the Recycle & Bicycle wallet is a highly affordable wallet so premium materials shouldn’t be exactly expected for the price tag (coming in at £16.00 or 22.00$). The range of color options ranging from red, green, blue, and black are also brilliant and stark but are entirely dependent and the recycled fabrics they find.
The wallet has a lovely compact design and is styled in an almost purse or case style that fashioned with a study 2 press stud for added security. Once opened, the wallet has one large cavity, or area, where all your cash and cards are stored with one quick access slot on the outside for your most-used cards. In total, it can store around 4 – 5 credit/debit cards, and a good amount of banknotes – folded of course. The size is good, coming in at 95 mm long x 70 mm wide, and the wallet is well made and has a great look to it. Functionality is decent for its smaller size and works well with the single-pocket design.
Overall, I can’t really complain. The Cyclist Wallet is highly affordable and a fantastic choice for people looking for both a sustainable element to their wallet but also an affordable price tag.
