2022 Wallet Awards Results

At the end of last year, we decided to create a little awards ceremony celebrating some of the best wallets in 2022 across 3 distinct categories. After over a month of voting the results are in and we’ve got 3 winners across our Innovation, Newcomer, and Independent Craftsmen categories. 

I wanted to personally give a big thanks to everyone who’s taken the time to look at the amazing brands Put forward for the awards, and of course, actually, casting your vote. It was very close in all three categories and due to the great response we’re sure to do it again at the end of this year. Without further ado onto the results!

The Best Independent Craftsmen 

The brands are only half the story when it comes it comes creativity and the world of wallets. We wanted to shine some light on some of the very best independent wallet brands that provide quality, durable and stylish wallets designed and handmade by individuals across the world.

Winner: Saangoh Leather

Unique Designs & Complex Colors

My personal favorite category is the Best Independent craftsmen. As much as I enjoy what some of the bigger named brands are doing within the industry there’s nothing quite like handmade wallets made by amazing craftsmen across the world. Instagram is an amazing hub and community for independent leather `craftsmen and it’s here where I found a lot of inspiration for my own work. The winner of this category is the amazing Saangoh Leather. 

What really stood out to me with Saangoh, and its founder Steve, is the unique use of unusually shaped leather, patterns, and abstract colors within its designs. They really are amazing and a worthy winner. Congratulations to Saangoh Leather!

At times, the world of wallets can get a little stale. Boring unimaginable designs are the norm but it doesn’t have to be this way. Below are some of our top picks for the best innovative wallets that hit the markets in 2022.

Charge Your Devices on the Move

A Big congratulations to SprkCharger, the world’s first chargeable and rechargeable wallet that allows you to charge your tech devices on the move. Over the past year, I’ve actually had the opportunity to speak with the founders of SprkCharger, and their passion and commitment to The SprkCharger is admirable. Having tested the wallet, it really is a game changer and a breath of fresh air in an often boring wallet world. The Best Newcomers

Every year thousands of new wallets hit the market. Whether it be on Kickstarter or IndieGoGo, or from already established brands tying something different, this category celebrates the best new we’ve discovered from 2022. 

Winner: Hardgraft Atypical Wallet

A Leather Wallet like you’ve never seen before

This category was by far the most contested and had some pretty big-named brands up on the list including Bellroy. But it was actually the smaller brand Hardgraft that swept this category with their amazing Atypical Wallet. As the name suggests, the Atypical Wallet is a re-imagination of what we know of a classic leather wallet.
