The wallet we’ll be reviewing today is Murdy Creative’s Minimalist wallet, an unusual wallet with a clean stitchless design and beautiful use of premium leather. The leather itself is a Full Grain Cowhide Leather (with a Nappa finish similar to what people associate with suede). This gives the wallet a luxurious look and feel to the touch while adding much durability thanks to the wallet’s thick leather hide.
You also get a choice between 5 different colors including brown, black, red and grey. Murdy Creative also offers a small amount of customization and personalization options for when you order a wallet. Optional engraving cost you an additional $7.00 and get you your choice of 3 character/initials engraved on the side of the wallet.
Design-wise, the Murdy Creative Wallet is designed in a cardholder style. Its size is no larger than a standard credit/debit card and its stitchless design furthers its minimalist size and appearance. I am personally a big fan of stitchless wallets as they add additional durability as over time your wallet won’t suffer from frayed edges and the potential for wear over the years. The design is definitely something I personally find highly attractive and one that isn’t commonly seen on the wallet market. It’s unique, small, functional, and highly durable - fantastic!
For its small size, the capacity of the wallet is great being able to store from as little as 1 up to 10 credit or debit cards. These are stored within two dedicated and separated compartments accessible from the top of the wallet. Cards are stored in a so-called stacking method where cards are stacked on top of each other to save space.
One downside of this though is cards in the middle of the stack of harder to access and can be quite fiddling to get out when needed. Another downside for me is the wallet doesn’t include a dedicated slot or area to store any banknotes/bills. This means to carry physical cash you’ll need to fold and store your bills within one of the two card slots.
Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the Murdy Creative Wallet. It really lends itself to a compact size, and its overall quality, thanks to its construction, craftsmanship, and use of premium materials, makes it a fantastic choice for added longevity. Starting at a price tag of $49.00 I really can’t complain as for its quality this is highly competitive and affordable especially compared to similar quality wallets on the market (that can set you back over $100.00).
