A Modern Cascading Card Wallet
The Tru Virtu Click & Slide is a German-made wallet and a popular take on the slide wallet. If you’re not quite sure what a Slide Wallet is, they’re a type of wallet that uses an internal mechanism that enables you to slide, or cascade, your credit/debit cards out with a push of a button. Cards are slid out in a way that provides easy access and can be accessed and stored with ease. These types of sliding wallets have become popular in recent years thanks to their ease of use, simplicity, and modern look.
The Tru Virtu Wallet uses a combination of metal and leather to achieve a very functional and attractive look. After many years of reviewing these slide wallets, most are made from the same material, size, and shape (makes me think they’re all from the same manufacturer). The Tru Vitru is one of very few that use a different metal. I found it to be thicker and more study along with having its push button, to allow the cards to slide out, on the side of the wallet (as opposed to the common bottom). The wallet’s use of leather is also worth mentioning being in a fold-out ‘bi-fold’ design allowing for additional storage. But this leather is only genuine leather (the second to worst in quality) which can definitely be seen and felt when using the wallet in daily life.
The Vitru’s functionality is also very strong. With a maximum capacity of up to 12 credit cards with room for full-width cash in its fold-out leather compartment. Card storage is spread among the metal slide mechanism (5 cards, mix of max. 4 embossed and 1 flat card) and the additional 2 dedicated leather card slots which can store 3 cards each. Finally, the Tru Vitru also comes with RFID Security features which allow protection against the growing crime of contactless fraud.
There’s no doubt that you’ll have to think carefully about the type of slide wallet you want. The market is quite saturated with the likes of popular brands Secrid and Ekster dominating this market. What I like about the Tru Virtu is they’ve definitely priced themselves well (a standard click & slide comes in at $70.00), undercutting both of these brands.
