Secrid Joins the Future With First MagSafe Compatible Wallet
Secrid adapts its iconic Cardprotector with MagSafe, blending slim design, RFID protection, and iPhone integration.
Secrid, the Dutch brand best known for redefining how we carry cards, has officially stepped into Apple’s ecosystem with the launch of its first MagSafe-compatible wallet. Called the Cardprotector for MagSafe, this release takes Secrid’s iconic aluminium cardholder and adapts it for Apple’s magnetic attachment system, merging two everyday essentials, your wallet and your phone, into one sleek piece of pocketwear. Let's check out what this new wallet from Secrid can offer you.
What Is Apple’s MagSafe?
Apple introduced MagSafe in 2020 with the iPhone 12. Built around a ring of strong magnets on the back of the phone, MagSafe allows users to snap on accessories such as chargers, cases, and wallets with a secure but easily detachable hold. The system quickly gained traction, with third-party brands developing their own MagSafe-compatible accessories. Now, Secrid has joined that space with a wallet that offers more than just storage - it offers full card protection.
MagSafe has been a resounding success all in all, and many brands have implemented devices that work with in collaboration with the technology to create a more seemless everyday carry experience. The development of MagSafe Wallets being one of those things, and although this isn’t the first of its kind, its cool to see a brand as big and esteemed as Secrid jump on the bandwagon to create their very own MagSafe compatable wallet.

The Cardprotector for MagSafe
Secrid’s new release takes everything that made the original Cardprotector a global success and adds MagSafe integration. Crafted from anodised aluminium, plastic, and stainless steel, the wallet is durable, water-resistant, and offers RFID blocking to protect against digital theft. With a single flick of the patented mechanism, cards slide out in a smooth, staggered stack, giving quick visibility and access to up to six cards (or four embossed).
Thanks to the MagSafe magnets, the Cardprotector snaps neatly to the back of iPhones from the 12 series onward (excluding the 16E). For Android users, compatibility is possible with MagSafe-enabled cases or adapters.

Design Details That Matter: Secrid’s Touch
One clever touch Secrid hasn’t made a big deal of in its marketing is the grippy rubber-like material layered across the back of the Cardprotector. While MagSafe magnets provide the hold, metal-on-metal contact isn’t ideal. Secrid’s decision to add this protective surface reduces friction, protects both phone and wallet, and ensures the attachment feels secure in hand. It’s a subtle but thoughtful detail that reflects the brand’s reputation for precision and innovation.
The only thing i’d try and add to this wallet was a way of storing cash. At the moment its just a simple cardholder, which isn’t bad in its own right, but a way of storing cash would mean this wallet can be used solely as your wallet with or without your phone making it a much more attractive propersition in my opinion.
Practicality and Care
The Cardprotector for MagSafe isn’t just stylish - it’s built to last. It can be cleaned with a soft cloth and soap, rinsed under warm water, and restored to function once fully dry. The only caveat: saltwater can affect the metals, so rinsing with fresh water is recommended after any seaside exposure.

Pricing and Availability: How’s The MagSafe Card Protector Stack up?
The Secrid Cardprotector for MagSafe is available in five colours at launch, priced at $69.00. For iPhone users, it’s a wallet that fuses seamlessly with their daily carry. For Android users, a simple MagSafe-compatible case makes the experience equally possible.
With the Cardprotector for MagSafe, Secrid has taken its most iconic design into the next era of mobile carry. It’s slim, practical, protective, and now, thanks to MagSafe, part of Apple’s growing accessory future.
