Handmade by Service Disabled Veterans

Celtic Sheild is a Service and Disabled Veteran Owned business that creates high-quality goods aimed at the services industry. If you’re looking for custom-made products to use in the police, fire department, or armed services then Celtic Shield provides a wallet that provides a range of customization options for you with custom logos and images and various options for functionality that meets your individual needs.

Look & Design

The Celtic Shield Wallet is a premium metal wallet handmade in the USA. You’ll have to excuse the exact detailing of this review as Celtic Shield themselves haven’t provided much information regarding the exact materials used or manufacturing process. What I can tell you though is this is a well-built and highly durable wallet. I can take a guess the Celtic Shield is made from either aro-grade aluminum or titanium. I personally think its aluminum as its lightweight nature and perfectly formed metal is similar to other wallets of the same craftsmanship and quality.

Functionality & Utility

The wallet is designed in a plate system with cards slipping and being secured between two plates. These plates themselves are held together by two military spec. Elasticated bands that provide the elasticity to easily slide credit/debit cards in-between. I found, typically, the Celtic Sheild Wallet could store around 6 cards easily. It could theoretically store many more cards, but at this point, you’d be sacrificing the wallet’s slim size making it bulkier in the pocket. Also the more cards in this wallet the more strain put on the elastic and the harder it is to easily take and put back your cards.

On the reverse side of the wallet is a standard money clip, again, made from the same robust metal. It has decent flexibility making it great for easily storing and access your banknotes or other paper items at ease. Where the Celtic Sheild really comes into its own is with the customizable option. The front plate is where the magic happens and can be changed to accommodate a number of different variations. This includes the likes of having a hollowed-out area for storage of a coin (most likely a hobo coin) or organizing the front plate to better accommodate a custom engraving of your choice.

Final Verdict

Coming in at a price tag of $98.00 (plus extra for engravings)  the Celtic Sheid Wallet is a fairly pricey item. Celtic Sheild themselves mention that the price of their wallets reflects the craftsmanship, high-quality materials, and time taken to handmake each and every one. For this, I can’t really complain about the price tag. You get what you pay for and in the case of the Celtic Sheild Wallet, it really is a creative and unique item unless all the mass-produced wallets out there.
