The Titaner Verso Wants to Be Your Only EDC Tool
Modular titanium, MagSafe, 15 tools, and a mother of pearl option. Here is what to know.
If 2026 has a defining wallet trend, it is the slide wallet. Not the traditional pop-up with a button or lever, but a wallet activated by sliding the front plate, no precise thumb placement required, just a clean swipe anywhere across the face. Groove Life pioneered it, Ogon followed, then Dango with the SK1, and most recently the MechVault. The slide mechanism has gone from a novelty to a recognizable category in a fairly short space of time. Titaner, the Hong Kong-based EDC brand that made a serious impression with its original titanium wallet on Kickstarter last year, has now entered that space with the Verso.

About the Brand: Titaner
Titaner has been producing titanium EDC gear since 2009 and has run over 52 Kickstarter campaigns in that time, accumulating more than 31,000 backers across their catalogue. The original Titaner EDC Wallet, which I covered on this site when it launched, raised over HK$1.5 million against a HK$39,250 goal, a staggering result that confirmed genuine appetite for what the brand was doing.
The Verso is the direct successor to that wallet, incorporating the feedback gathered from that campaign into a more refined and modular second generation.
What the Verso Brings
The Verso is precision machined from Grade 5 titanium and comes in at 10mm thin. It holds cards via a slide mechanism and carries up to 15 customizable tools in a modular configuration, covering tweezers, a pen, screwdriver, SIM ejector, and more depending on what you choose to load it with. MagSafe compatibility is built in, allowing it to attach magnetically to any MagSafe-ready iPhone.
As far as I am aware, this is the first tactical wallet to use a slide mechanism. Every other tactical wallet on the market that combines tool storage with card access uses a button or lever. The Verso removes that entirely, which in theory should make one-handed access more intuitive since you can slide from anywhere across the plate rather than hunting for a specific point of contact.
The Mother of Pearl Option
This is the part that genuinely surprised me. The Verso is available with a mother of pearl inlay, which, as far as I can tell, makes it the first wallet to incorporate a precious stone or natural mineral material into its design in this way. The result is striking. Against the raw titanium body, the iridescent surface of the mother of pearl creates a contrast that is unmistakably premium and, deliberately or not, aimed at a wider demographic than the typical tactical wallet buyer.
I have written before about how the women’s wallet market is growing rapidly and is significantly underserved by most brands. A tactical wallet with a mother of pearl finish is a genuinely unusual move in that direction, and I appreciate it. It is not just a color option. It is a different material proposition entirely, and it broadens the Verso’s appeal in a way that most wallets in this category make no attempt to do.
The Price
Here is where it gets difficult. The Verso is priced at $248 on Kickstarter, discounted from a full retail price of $397. I want to be straight about this: $248 is a lot of money for a wallet. Even factoring in the Grade 5 titanium construction, the modular tool system, the MagSafe integration, and the general quality that Titaner’s track record suggests, that is a price point that is going to rule most people out immediately.
I cannot personally justify that figure in my head, and I think it is worth saying so plainly rather than burying it. The wallet looks excellent and the concept is strong, but the pricing is the primary barrier here. If Titaner can find a way to bring a future version down to a more accessible price point, the Verso’s feature set would be genuinely compelling. At $248 on discount, it is a product for a specific, enthusiast buyer who has already decided titanium EDC gear is where they spend their money.
Early Verdict: Will I Be Backing the Titaner Verso?
The Verso is not a copycat slide wallet. The tactical tool integration, the MagSafe functionality, and the mother of pearl design option are all genuine additions to a format that other brands have kept fairly plain. Whether those additions justify nearly $250 on Kickstarter pricing is a personal call, but the ideas behind the wallet are sound and the execution, based on Titaner’s previous campaigns, is likely to match the ambition.
Personally I won’t be backing the Verso, too rich for me, but I can’t wait to see what others have to say about this interesting and innovative wallet.
