A Premium Brand at Affordable Prices

Stock & Barrel are a premium wallet manufacturer from Ogden, Utah. They pride themselves on developing a high-quality range of leather wallets. The wallet I’m going to review today is their No. 54 Minimalist Leather Wallet. Aimed at minimalist lovers this thin cardcase style wallet excels in both its simplicity and size. Coming in at just 4 1/4” x 2 1/2” x 1/4” (just slightly larger than a standard-sized credit card) the Stock and Barrel wallet is sized for maximum comfort and for those who carry little with them.

With quality being at the forefront of Stock and Barrel’s ethos we must mention the incredible craftsmanship of each and every wallet. Made from a vegetable-tanned skirting leather from one of the most premium tanneries in the USA - Wickett and Craig. Due to the nature of this material over time the leather will develop a wonderful and unique Patina (more on this here) that subtly changes the color and provides distinct patternation on the surface of the wallet. I really can’t fault the craftsmanship.

In terms of the functionality of the wallet, as mentioned, it’s aimed at people who want a slim wallet. The wallet has 3 card slots in total (front, back, and top middle) that can hold around 2 cards per slot (6 - 8 cards total). The No. 54 also includes an ID Card Sot on the reverse side that provides an easy way to showcase any ID or employee cards. Cash can be stored easily in the middle slot but would need to be folded multiple times first.

Coming in at a price tag of only $38.00 I was incredibly impressed by this lower-end price tag especially considering the premium nature of this wallet. Many other wallet brands, of lesser quality, cost way more than this so it’s refreshing to see Stock and Barrel price their wallets so anyone, regardless of money, can enjoy these fantastic arrays of wallets.
