Oak and Honey are a popular handcrafted leather brand based in Toronto, Canada. The whole company is made up of just one man. He lives and breathes the world of leathercraft and uses a variety of the finest leathers in the world, to create distinctive and high-quality wallets. There’s no factory, outsourcing, or automation which means with every wallet comes that handmade quality that no mass-produced brand could ever fulfill.
The wallet we’re going to review today is the Oak and Honey classic bi-fold with a medium-sized appearance coming in at 3.5” tall by 4.25” wide. The bi-fold itself is very traditional in design and has a traditional look of bi-folds we’re all familiar with. Crafted from the finest Italian vegetable tanned leather from Tempesti, this renowned tannery from Italy and is a member of the Leather consortium which guarantees its quality. In terms of features, the wallet has nine total pockets (for a capacity of up to 18 cards), 2 hidden pockets, and a full-width cash slot for banknotes.
One aspect that makes Oak and Honey far more innovative than most brands is the variety of customization options available. As each wallet is handmade to order (which men’s wallets are only made once an order is placed) it provides customers with an option to really personalize their wallet with choices in leather color (18 colors to choose from), stitching color, and a monogram engraving (for an additional $10.00).
As you’d expect with a handmade wallet of this quality, Oak and Honey Wallet’s are not cheap coming in at a price tag of $235.00 CAD (around $180.00). Whether or not you think this is overpriced for any wallet, it’s hard to go against a price when it literally comes from one man in this workshop. The bi-fold wallet itself is fantastic and will provide you with a premium wallet that, with proper care, will last you a lifetime.
