Akeeni was founded by Tobe Zane, a former aerospace engineer of 30 years, and operates as a small, family-run business based in Ashland, Oregon. The brand's story took a dramatic turn in 2018 when the Carr Fire destroyed the manufacturing facility for the original Stow Wallet just days after the first commercial run of prototypes had been completed. Akeeni rebuilt from the ground up, and today produces the XSTO Wallet, a 100% metal minimalist design manufactured entirely in the USA.
