AeMech EDC Tech Wallet Hits Kickstarter with a James Bond-Inspired Twist
From city commutes to desert adventures, a pocket organiser built for every scenario.
Wallets have steadily evolved beyond simple cash carriers, but few pushes have been as ambitious as this. The AeMech EDC Tech Wallet, despit its odd name, takes everyday carry (EDC) to the next level elevating a wallet far beyond what its tradtionally used for. Now live on Kickstarter, the AeMech EDC Tech Wallet blends a bifold design with tools usually reserved for your keychain or backpack. Let's take a closer look at this Kickstarter wallet and see whether or not it deserves your backing.
A new contender has entered the wallet space on Kickstarter, and it’s unlike most designs we’ve seen before. The AeMech EDC Tech Wallet is being billed as the “Swiss Army Knife of Wallets,” a bifold that doesn’t just carry cash and cards, but also integrates some of the most-used everyday carry (EDC) tools into one compact package.
Early testers have already likened it to something Q might hand to James Bond or Inspector Gadget. More than just a gimmick, the AeMech wallet has been tested in both urban and rugged settings, from snowy German winters to the Nevada desert, and even proved useful during the Spanish blackout of April 2025.

Two Versions for Different Carriers
The wallet comes in two distinct models:
- The Maximalist – Designed as a full-blown EDC powerhouse, it arrives with six flight-safe accessories included: a pen, multitool, USB drive, RFID blockers and a SIM pin tool. Add-ons are also available for those who want to expand its functionality further.
- The Minimalist – A thinner, streamlined option built for lighter daily use. It still offers plenty of utility with a free pen, multitool, trolley cart unlocker and RFID blocker, while keeping bulk to a minimum.
Both wallets are slightly taller than a credit card, with the Maximalist carrying a bit more width and thickness to handle the extra capacity. Despite the features, AeMech insists they remain comfortable in the pocket - even a fully loaded Maximalist is designed to slip into a suit jacket with ease. I’ll only be able to vouch for this with the wallet in my hands.

Flight-Safe and RFID-Smart
Every accessory included with the AeMech wallets is flight-safe, making them convenient for frequent travellers. For those who prefer a blade or more complex multitool, the brand advises storing them in hold luggage.
The RFID system is particularly innovative. Instead of fully blocking every card, the AeMech wallet uses some of the thinnest carbon fibre RFID blockers in the world, just 0.34 mm thick, allowing you to choose which cards to shield. This means you can tap into the metro on one side while keeping bank cards securely protected on the other.

What are my Personal Thoughts?
My quarms with this wallet is that its trying to do too much. that isn’t a bad thing if its executed correctly, but until i get the opporunity to test and try out this wallet i don’t know. The next potential issue is down to bulk. Yes, i understand they have a slimmer version for this exact reason but that wallet still holds far more than what a typicial wallet would hold is most likely still far larger than a tradtional ‘minimalist’ sized wallet that is usually no larger than a credit/debit card.
Regardless of my speculation, the AeMech EDC Tech Wallet is being positioned as more than just a wallet, and innovative item built for a specific and niche community. It’s a pocket organiser and problem-solver designed for both commuters and adventurers alike and with its blend of function and portability, it’s aiming to carve out a space of its own.
The project is now live on Kickstarter, with backers able to choose between the Maximalist or Minimalist version. Currently funding at the time of writing sits at just over $10,000 which is enough to successfully fund the wallet.
