I can’t believe it's been maybe 2 years since I last did a Kickstarter or crowdfunding round-up. Many thanks contributed to myself ending this mini series of articles (mainly time), but we’re back and i’m here each month to round-up either my personal favourites, most unusual, or most funded wallets kicking about on Kickstarter and other crowdfunding platforms such as Indiegogo. Today we’re got 5 quite different wallets to bring to you ranging from a knife attached to a money clip through to a popular YouTube’s take on a passport wallet. Let's jump straight in.

BYWAL DESIGN WALLET 2.0

ByWal Design Wallet 2.0

Pop-up wallets have remained a dominant force in the wallet space, popularised by the likes of Ekster and Secrid. But in recent years, we’ve seen a subtle evolution of this design. Rather than the familiar push-button or lever mechanism, a new wave of wallets has emerged using a one-handed slide system. Instead of a traditional trigger, the front body of the wallet itself becomes the mechanism, sliding smoothly to reveal your cards.

I first came across this design with Groove Life’s Groove Wallet and the Orgon Slider Wallet. Now, ByWal has entered the fray with the release of their second-generation model, the ByWal 2.0.

Sticking to that same sliding card access style, the 2.0 builds on the concept with a more refined and premium construction. It’s made from tough 6061-T6 aluminium and paired with vintage-style leather, giving it a modern yet classic aesthetic. With leather panels on both the front and back, the result is a striking blend of contemporary minimalism and timeless materials.

Shipping began in March 2025, and the wallet comes backed by a solid three-year manufacturer warranty. At the time of writing, there are just 16 days left on the crowdfunding campaign, with pledges starting at £39.00. You can find more details and secure yours via their official campaign page.

Slidemorph 1

SlideMorph Mech Wallet

I first mentioned the SlideMorph Wallet when exploring the growing trend of fan wallets — a new style of wallet that uses a clever fanning mechanism for card access. Currently live on Kickstarter, the Slide Morph has already raised over $20,000, proving there’s strong demand for innovation in this space.

If the SlideMorph feels familiar, you’re not wrong. It closely resembles the Shuffle Wallet, another crowdfunded success from last year. But I’m all for a bit of friendly competition to keep brands pushing boundaries. You can learn more about this emerging fan wallet style through the link here.

The SlideMorph uses a satisfying fanning action to reveal your cards, much like spreading a hand of playing cards. It’s a refreshing take on quick-access wallets, sitting alongside popular pop-up styles like those from Ekster and Secrid. Where it really sets itself apart, though, is in its extra features. The wallet packs in a clever Ninja Blade (a small box cutter), a flathead screwdriver, and a bottle opener — all without adding unnecessary bulk.

Overall, it’s a fantastic-looking wallet with a lot of thought put into its design. Backers can currently grab the cosmic grey version of the Slide Morph for just $62 — a 37% saving off the future retail price. Check it out using the link below.

Masverano 2 Wallet With AirTag

Masverano Wallet 2

Somehow, the original Masverano Wallet completely passed me by. Masverano first found success with their initial design back in 2023, based on the belief that the clumsy, cold aluminium wallets dominating the market aren’t necessarily the best execution of minimalist design.

At first glance, Masverano might look like another plate system wallet, similar to the Ridge or its many competitors. But in reality, it’s far more clever. The Masverano 2 uses a dual-slot design that creates distinct compartments for your cards — one on the front, one on the back. A central plate forms a hidden inner compartment, which, thanks to the smart layout, allows for small raised items like keys, coins, or folded cash to sit flush within the wallet. It’s a little like the coin trays some brands offer as wallet accessories, except here it’s built directly into the wallet itself, cleverly using your cards as part of the structure.

Combined with the high-quality, aviation-grade carbon fibre construction, the Masverano 2 — and by the looks of it, the original version too — seems like a fantastic choice. It’s clearly resonated with backers, having already raised over $20,000 on Kickstarter at the time of writing. Supporting the campaign will secure you 30% off retail pricing, with the Masverano 2 coming in at $49.00 and delivery estimated for the summer.
