Bolstr is the maker of the Slimmy, one of the earliest minimalist front-pocket wallets, originally launched in 2003 under the name Koyono. The brand was founded by Jay Yoo, an engineer-turned-fashion-entrepreneur, and is based in Cleveland, Ohio. Slimmy wallets are made from full-grain US steer hide by a fourth-generation family-owned leather manufacturer. The brand expanded into everyday carry bags in 2014 via Kickstarter, and was the recipient of the 2021 International Design Award for Fashion Accessories.
