Crabby was founded by Ryan Crabtree, who launched the original Crabby Wallet on Kickstarter in March 2013 from Ogden, Utah. Created during a softball season as a minimalist solution for carrying cards, a key, and a phone together, the campaign was a runaway success, hitting its $10,000 goal in 24 hours and ultimately raising over $308,000 from more than 15,000 backers. The Crabby Wallet's elastic construction, lobster claw keychain, and phone-strap design helped define a generation of slim, sport-friendly wallets. The brand now operates as Crabby Gear, with a wider range of outdoor and adventure accessories.
